دکتر عطابخش از خانواده‌ای فرهنگی و معلم‌زاد در جنوب کالیفرنیا برخاسته است. وی تحصیلات دبیرستانی خود را در Grover Cleveland High School گذراند و سپس با علاقه شدید به علوم طبیعی و زیست‌شناسی، در دانشگاه ایالتی کالیفرنیا، نورثریج (CSUN) در رشته زیست‌شناسی با گرایش شیمی فارغ‌التحصیل شد.

در دوره‌های کارآموزی بیمارستانی، استعداد خود را در زمینه‌های درمانی و علمی کشف کرد و پس از پذیرش در دانشکده دندان‌پزشکی UCLA، تحت آموزش برجسته‌ترین استادان و پژوهشگران این حوزه قرار گرفت. وی در طول تحصیل در تحقیقاتی پیشرفته در زمینه پریون‌ها و ارتباط آن‌ها با بیماری انسفالوپاتی گاوی (BSE) در دانشکده پزشکی UCLA به‌سرپرستی دکتر کاگان و دکتر میرزابکوف مشارکت داشت.

در سال ۱۹۹۷ با رتبه برتر از UCLA فارغ‌التحصیل شد و با تمرکز بر پریودنتیکس و ایمپلنتولوژی، راه حرفه‌ای خود را در این شاخه تخصصی ادامه داد. پس از آن به عنوان رزیدنت پریودنتیکس در مرکز علوم بهداشتی دانشگاه تگزاس در هوستون (UTHealth) پذیرفته شد و مدرک تخصصی و کارشناسی ارشد در پریودنتیکس را دریافت کرد. تحقیقات او درباره استخوان‌سازی در سطوح متفاوت ایمپلنت دندانی در ناحیه سینوس فک بالا، بازتابی از علاقه علمی و عملی او به تلفیق علم و درمان بوده است.

دکتر عطابخش اکنون در Texas Dental Studio به عنوان یکی از اعضای معتبر مؤسسه دندان‌پزشکی پیشرفته با لیزر (Laser Advanced Dental Institute) فعالیت می‌کند — افتخاری که تنها گروهی منتخب از دندان‌پزشکان دنیا پس از آموزش و تجربه فشرده بدان دست یافته‌اند. کلینیک او در درمان‌های پریودنتال و جراحی‌های ترمیمی از فناوری‌های پیشرفته لیزر Periolase MVP‑7 Nd:YAG و پروتکل‌های LANAP و LAPIP استفاده می‌کند.

Dr. Atabaksh was raised in Southern California in a family of educators and mentors. He attended Grover Cleveland High School and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) in 1992.

His early clinical internships in hospitals and private practices sparked his professional path toward dentistry, leading him to acceptance into the UCLA School of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors in 1997. During his training, Dr. Atabaksh participated in advanced scientific research on prions and their role in bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) under the guidance of Dr. Kagan and Dr. Mirzabekov at UCLA Medical School.

With a strong focus on periodontics and implant dentistry, he continued his postdoctoral education at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), earning both his specialty certificate and Master’s degree in Periodontics. His research examined osseointegration of different implant surface types within maxillary sinus sites.

Dr. Atabaksh is a distinguished member of the Laser Advanced Dental Institute, a select honor granted only to dentists who demonstrate expertise and rigorous training in laser‑assisted procedures worldwide. At Texas Dental Studio, he utilizes the cutting‑edge Periolase MVP‑7 Nd:YAG laser to perform advanced LANAP and LAPIP protocols for periodontal therapy — helping patients achieve optimal oral health with less discomfort and greater precision.
